"How Does It Work?"

Powder Coating is a dry finishing process. Finely ground particles of pigment and resin are electrostatically charged and sprayed onto the products to be coated.
The parts to be coated are electrically grounded, so that the charged particles adhere to them until melted and fused into a solid coating in a curing oven.

The result is an attractive, durable, high-quality finish. The powder coating process itself offers another advantage -- it is environmentally friendly...virtually pollution-free!

Unused powder is recovered and reused so there's little or no waste of materials. And there aren't any of the Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC's) usually found in solvent based paints.

What are Ceramic Coatings?

Ceramic Coatings are applied in the same way as our Prizm Powder Coatings. Electrostatically charged powder is applied to a grounded metal product. That product is then put into a curing oven to complete the process.

The difference between the two is heat! Prizm Powder's Ceramic Finish will tolerate up to 1600 degrees of sustained temperature! Perfect for auto parts in high heat environments! Currently available in black or silver.

Large batch jobs or single piece work, every item is physically inspected by at least three different individuals during the finishing process!

One of the ways we provide superb quality control is in the preparation stages! We utilize a no rinse phosphatizer on all products in the preparation of the surfaces to be finished.

On site sandblasting is available for most work. A liquid stripping process can be used that is gentle on your product but will remove even powder coatings!
